Teach High Tunnel Production
with Structured Curriculum

Our research-based modules are designed for agricultural educators, organized progressively to build student knowledge from fundamentals through advanced production.

Curriculum Overview

The high tunnel curriculum is organized into four progressive parts — from an introductory overview through advanced crop production — plus a companion Training Manual. Educators may follow the full sequence for a structured course, or select individual modules to supplement existing instruction. Each module includes research-based content, hands-on activities, and assessment tools.

Curriculum Modules

Part I: Introduction

An overview of high tunnels, their benefits, and how they fit into modern agricultural production systems.

Part II: Planning & Construction

Site selection, structural considerations, and step-by-step guidance for building a high tunnel.

Part III: Tomato Production

Best practices for growing tomatoes in high tunnels, including variety selection, pest management, and harvest timing.

Part IV: Cut Flower Production

Techniques for producing marketable cut flowers in high tunnels, from planting through post-harvest handling.

Training Manual

A companion resource with additional activities, assessment tools, and supplementary materials for educators.
